"The Least Known Feast: First Fruits"

Of the 7 "moadim" (appointed times) listed in the Torah (Lev. 23), probably the least understood is the one known as First Fruits; in Hebrew, it is called rest ketzir. It is to be observed on the "morrow after the Shabbat" in the context of Passover. It is also when the counting of the omer is to begin. Let's explore what this feast was all about then and what, if anything, it means for us today.
