God's Consuming Fire

In this week's parsha we have a dramatic scene where two of Aaron's sons are consumed by God's fire for offering "strange" or "unauthorized fire" on the altar. While we don't know exactly what they did to deserve death, God was obviously displeased. There are other similar examples in both the Tenach and the Brit Chadasha.  Is God still a consuming fire? Could God ever be displeased with us? Let's dig in and see.
