At Shalom Boca we value family and the importance of each generation. This is displayed in our logo, which shows 3 palm trees representing 3 generations. The top one represents our grandparents and seniors, the middle is parents, and the smaller one represents our children.
Children: In Jewish life teaching and raising up future generations is a foundational principle. At Shalom Boca we take the education of our children seriously. We have the following programs to further this goal:
- Kids Torah talk during our service- lessons from the weekly portion
- Shabbat class for ages 4-11 during Rabbi's message
- Special holiday events for children such as Chanukah and Purim
- Backyard playground at our Ministry Center
- Hebrew School (starting Fall, 2022)
Parents: We recognize the challenges in raising children in today's world. At Shalom Boca whenever we have special events we provide child care to give parents a break. As a spiritual family, we encourage our families with young children to have playtimes and get-togethers so they know that they are not alone.
Seniors: We also recognize the challenges of seniors, especially the widows and singles among us. We have an active senior group, and we want to be a source of support and care and at the same time draw on the wisdom and experience of those that have been around a while. They are active members of our congregation.
